This industry, being as old as it is, has seen some major transformations in the last five decades, including the transition from complete reliance on coal to electricity as the major resource. And amidst the “go green” talks at bureaucratic levels and increasing pressure on industries to cut their carbon emissions, some major transitions are definitely on their way in energy and resources. Clean, renewable solar and wind energy are expected to go cheaper along with a significant rise in the market share. While at the same time, the demand for resources like oil and gas may flatten out owing to technological innovations in the transportation industry allowing reduced consumption and increased fuel efficiency.
